Terms of Service — Am2pm Backup

Last updated: 14 October 2026 Provider: AM2PM (am2pm GmbH), Washingtonstrasse 20, 9400 Rorschach, Switzerland · info@am2pm.ch

These terms govern your use of the Shopify app Am2pm Backup ("the App", "the Service") provided by am2pm ("we", "us"). By installing or using the App you, the Shopify merchant ("you"), agree to them. If you use the App on behalf of a company, you confirm that you may bind that company. Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms.

1. The Service

The App backs up data from your Shopify store into a Google Drive account that you connect, and lets you restore or export that data. Specifically, it:

The App lists which data types it backs up and which of them can be restored. Some data can be backed up and exported but not restored, because Shopify does not allow it to be recreated as it was. This includes orders, locations, payment and transaction history, customer passwords and account state, gift-card balances, analytics and reports, and anything Shopify does not expose through its Admin API.

2. Price

The App is currently free. We will not charge you without your explicit approval through Shopify's billing system. If we ever introduce paid features, we will announce them at least 30 days in advance, and you can keep using or stop using the App as you choose.

3. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  1. Your Google Drive account: keeping it active, having enough storage, and not deleting, moving or editing the App's files if you want restores to work. Backups pause when Drive is disconnected, full or the backup folder is deleted. The App tells you when this happens, but backups missed while paused cannot be recovered afterwards.
  2. Your store data and your customers' data: having a lawful basis to back it up, keeping your own privacy notices accurate, and handling your customers' requests. For that data you are the controller and we act as your processor (see §8).
  3. Checking restores. Before confirming a restore, review the plan the App shows you. After it runs, check the result. We recommend a test restore on a development store and checking your backup regularly.
  4. Your Shopify account: the access you grant the App, and who among your staff can use it.
  5. Lawful use: not using the App to infringe others' rights, break the law, or interfere with Shopify, Google or our infrastructure.

4. Restores

A restore writes data back into your live store. It can overwrite current content and, where you choose so explicitly, delete items created after the restore point. Before every restore the App captures the items it is about to change, so you can undo the restore with another restore.

Restores are limited by what Shopify allows. Among other things:

5. Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service running reliably but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Shopify, Google or our hosting provider may be unavailable, may change their APIs, or may restrict what apps can do, and the Service may change or lose features as a result. We may update, add or remove features. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce the Service.

6. Warranty disclaimer

The App is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranty that backups will be complete, that every restore will succeed, or that the App will meet a particular purpose. A backup tool reduces risk but does not remove it. Keep your own records of anything you cannot afford to lose, in particular order and accounting records, which you may be legally required to keep independently.

7. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to the App is excluded. Where it cannot be excluded, it is limited to direct damage, up to CHF 100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost profits, lost revenue, or loss of data, including data not captured, data deleted from your Google Drive, or data overwritten by a restore you confirmed. None of these limits apply to liability for intent or gross negligence, or to any other liability that cannot be limited under mandatory law (including Art. 100 of the Swiss Code of Obligations).

8. Data protection

We process personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. For your store's data, including your customers' personal data, we act as your processor. We process it only to provide the Service on your documented instructions (your settings and the actions you take in the App), and:

If you need a separately signed data processing agreement, contact info@am2pm.ch.

9. Intellectual property

The App, its code and its documentation belong to am2pm. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the App for your store while it is installed. Your store data and your backup files remain yours. We claim no rights in them.

10. Termination

You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Your backup files remain in your Google Drive. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if Shopify or Google require it. We may also discontinue the Service as a whole with at least 60 days' notice, so you have time to keep your Drive files and find an alternative.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will announce material changes in the App and by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the App after that date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the App.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Swiss law, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. The courts at Rorschach, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory jurisdiction that applies to you.
